This photograph is of my great grandma, this is the earliest photo i have been given from my grandad.
My current plans for my new project are to start from the earliest photos and memorabilia i have collected and research in to them and start drawing and collage them together.

Year two - Project two
I have decided to start research in to a new project on my family history, i will be starting with my grandad on my fathers side. Firstly I am going to look photographs from the 1930 upwards through search engines on the internet. I have selected these photo on this post show what men and women looked like in these time periods. I find the image on the left particularly interesting as body art was frowned upon at this time in history. I think the detail, composition and photography style in this image are beautiful and this is something i want to explore if/when i try to recreate this type of imagery.
This year i decided to make a lot of my own christmas presents and this is a apron i made for my mums. The print is from my drawings of spain collection.
For my contextual studies task this week i have to find 10 companies i would be interested in looking at or working for. The companies are based around textiles but i have found other interesting places.
The first company i have found is called Ecojot and is based in Scarborough, Ontario, they are an eco-friendly stationery brand.
I think i would be interested in this company because it seems a free and fun style of designing.
Below is an example of my work and i think i can see similarities in the drawing style. I draw quite childish but i think there is a open sort of careless feel to my style of drawing.
The next company i have looked at are called Marjam Rouden, they are a textile design studio based in london, Islington. I love there design style and i think some aspects of my work have similarities. I will be contacting Marjam Rouden for work experience.
The next company i have looked at are also based in london, they are called keelergordon. They are a printed fashion company with a working studio, this company sounds really interesting as i would love to see how fabrics are created in the textile industry.

The next company i looked at are called Circle Line, unfortunately for legal copyright reasons i cant display there work. On the website they display very unique beautiful fabrics.

When looking at the wallpaper design i saw similarities in my wall paper samples:
This deisgn in manipulated through photoshop but it was originally a photograph i took on my recent drawing trip to spain.
My next design company is called Sam Morray Design unfortunately the websites is under construction but i will visit it soon to research in to what they do.

The next artist and designer is called caroline wall design, one of the reasons i have chosen to research in to her is because of the processes she uses which she speaks about on her website..
"Using a combination of hand-drawn skill and computer-aided design, I develop both commercial and bespoke designs in collaboration with client requests."
Jessica Witchell is a printed designer graduate from falmouth university, she has very interesting prints ad styles of working.
My next artist is called Ellie Curtis, she is a illustrator and textile designer, she has really interesting designs and i love the mix of illustration and repeat pattern.
